My journey into UX design has been anything but conventional, shaped by a diverse background that informs my approach to creating meaningful user experiences.

Initially drawn to the complex biological sciences, I studied various interdisciplinary courses that introduced me to the fascinating field of human factors and applied cognitive sciences. My curiosity led me to join an applied cognitive psychology lab. This experience sharpened my critical thinking skills and highlighted the importance of understanding cognitive functions when tailoring to individual needs. It also solidified my commitment to designing with empathy and user-centric principles at the forefront.

With a curiosity to learn more about people, I invested myself in various hospitality roles, and I discovered the power of storytelling and human connection. These experiences deepened my desire to create impact on a larger scale, leading me to pivot back towards applied psychology and, ultimately, UX design. I enrolled in Springboard’s UX/UI career track course, where I gained technical skills and practical knowledge. One of my proudest accomplishments was collaborating with fellow design students and Purpose Design Co. to develop a climate mapping app aimed at reducing carbon emissions in rivers. This project not only challenged me creatively but also reinforced my belief in the potential of design to address pressing environmental issues. I continue to seek out civic volunteer opportunities to stay involved in my local community.

In terms of work ethic, I thrive in collaborative environments where diverse perspectives fuel creativity and innovation. I believe that the best ideas often emerge from inclusive discussions, and I actively seek out opportunities to learn from others. My goal as a designer is to integrate insights from different viewpoints into thoughtful, user-centered solutions that resonate with users.

Outside of design, you can often find me exploring new cultural foods, engaging in intense battles with my brother in Overcooked, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk outdoors to recharge.
